Amar Singh, Amar-Prakāsh (Rāmāyan)

[Preliminary Entry] In 1705-1706, Amar Singh (also known as Amar Das) completed a Persian prose version of the Rāmāyaṇa. The work, known as the Amar-Prakāsh, features stories of Rama found in multiple Indian texts, including Vālmīki’s Rāmāyaṇa and Tulsidas’s Rāmcaritmānas (Zaidi 1994, p. 43). The work was lithographed by Nawal Kišor in 1877 and subsequently published out of Tehran.
