Sītā Rām, Tarjuma-yi kaifiyyat-i nasab-nāma-yi rāja Satāra-wāla qawm Maraṭhā Bhusla

[Preliminary Entry] A historical account translated by a chronicler (aḫbār-nivīs) named Sitā Rām from Marathi sources into Persian, by the order of the British resident in July 1824. The work consists of the history of the Marathas up to the reinstatement of Bajī Rāo II by Lord Wellesley. The history begins with an account of the career of the grandfather of Śivājī (r. 1674-1680) who was the first member of the family to attain power. The narrative continues without any division till the end, dealing mostly with the lives of Śivājī and his successors Sambhājī (r. 1680-1689) and Rājarām (r. 1689-1700). Although the narrative ends with the restoration of Bajī Rāo in May 1803, some events of later date are briefly recorded in the final two pages.
